Why
we need this campaign?
The drivers with experience up to 3 years
are responsible for over 61%
of the deaths as a result of road accidents
Every year 1.3 million people
die and 50 million
are severely injured as a result of road accidents.
Statistics of the World Bank show that
Bulgaria LOSES OVER 900 million €
annually because of car accidents!
Most of the accidents
are caused by drivers with
experience up to 6 years
What is "Give Way TO LIFE!"
The interactive platform of the campaign "Give a Way to Life!" aims to reduce casualty incidents on the road. It will be enriched and popularized online through its social media accounts as the campaign develops over the next five years.
Unlike other initiatives and programs aimed at road safety in Bulgaria, the campaign “Give way to life” has educational and therefore a long-term nature. It will be enrolled in schools, universities, academies for young drivers. Using innovative training methods and the emotional impact of video materials, it will form young people's attitude towards tolerant and non-aggressive behavior on the road.
With the help of psychologists, the campaign will be focused on clearly determined target group, which is a prerequisite for its effectiveness. The main target group is young drivers between 17 and 25 years old. According to analyzes by the Road Police in our country, as well as a survey by the Royal Academy of Sciences (Ireland) for Psychology of Road Risk Behavior, this age group causes the most of the road accidents. Furthermore, the people at that age are the most susceptible to risky road behavior.
The second target group is the youngsters in high school: 16-18 years old. The third group is the children between 3 and 5 grade. For the last two target groups psychologists from the Institute of Psychology in the Ministry of the Interior have created interactive trainings that, after being certified by the Ministry of Education and Science, will become part of the educational program in schools and universities. Thus children and young people, who are future drivers or companions in the car, will be able to acquire social skills that enhance their understanding and responsible attitude towards road safety.
